hola,

My name is Anna, and if you've ever asked me what I do, I've probably answered "maker of things." I think what best describes my profession is the materialization of objects that only exist as ideas.

Since I was a little girl, I've thought that objects speak to me. Objects aren't just things to be bought, used, and thrown away; they are made, have a purpose, and die, just as humans do.

Objects and people have their own shape, size, color, etc.

Their characteristics make them different from each other and impact emotions. They have a soul.

Although I never studied art before I was 18, I always knew my purpose was to make things with my hands. Intrusive phrases like "you're not an artist, you can't even draw" hid that desire until I decided to make a life change and move to the United Kingdom.

After creating my first portfolio, fueled by my great desire to experiment, I was accepted to the University of the Arts London, where I studied Technical Arts and Special Effects.

I graduated the year of the pandemic and decided to look for work in the entertainment world.

Working in art departments for film and television projects, I was able to observe the props used in today's productions.

That, along with my interest in art, design, and craftsmanship, has inspired me to embark on this adventure with the goal of creating new objects with purpose and soul (both from my imagination and the realization of others' ideas).

I want to break the fantasy barrier that the entertainment industry's screens have and create a new reality with fewer boring, mass-produced objects, thus bringing a little bit of magic to the public's home.

After six years abroad, where I tried to answer my question: what makes a prop a prop? Or, in Spanish, what makes an object become a set? I decided to return home and create my own works that serve as objects with an artistic meaning.

A.M.A. PROPS was born from my need to handcraft decorative and functional objects for the screen and the home.
